Description

During this live presentation, we will provide you with a summary of the unique year that was 2020, the impact of COVID-19 on the 2020 influenza season, and the expectations for the 2021 season including strain selection. We will also explore strategies on how to best communicate with healthcare workers in order to improve acceptance and uptake of influenza vaccination.

She has over 15 years of experience in undertaking social science research focused on improving engagement of different at-risk groups with immunisation and other prevention strategies. Projects include developing and testing interventions and evaluating policy/programs and communication strategies. er current research is focused on children and adults with medical comorbidities, refugees and migrants and healthcare workers. She is the Deputy Chair for the Collaboration on Social Science and Immunisation (COSSI) network and one of the Research Chairs for the Sabin’s Institutes Vaccine and Acceptance Research Network (VARN). Dr Robert Menzies (Senior Medical Manager @Sanofi Pasteur) Dr Rob Menzies is a Senior Medical Manager (Influenza and RSV) for Sanofi Pasteur. He is an infectious disease epidemiologist with previous experience with NSW Health, the National Centre for Immunisation Research and Surveillance, and the University of NSW, as well as working in several developing countries.
